Biography
John Cornicello has been involved in the photo industry since starting out as a photo assistant in New York City in 1979. In the early 1980s he had a still life advertising studio where he worked with cameras from 35mm up to 11x14 and with a large variety of lighting systems from Hollywood-style hot lights, to strobes, and now almost entirely digital with LED technology under his tool belt.
Now based in Seattle, John is a home studio based portrait and headshot photographer. He is a regular fixture on CreativeLIVE, both as an instructor and as the lighting technician for other instructors. His passion is around teaching photographic concepts from basic camera functions to lighting theory and practice. For the past three years John has embarked on a personal portrait series called the Chair Project photographing people from all walks of life in an old chair purchased at a garage sale and now with a new "Egg Chair."
John the Intro to Studio Lighting class in the fall of 2018 at the Photo Center NW in Seattle, WA and has released an e-book, Anatomy of a Studio Portrait, on Amazon.
